The Jerusalem streets always find a way to turn travelers around, spinning you until you’re not quite sure where you are anymore. Fortunately, once I made it through the dizzying spells I came to my resting place: Ecce Homo Convent. This quiet retreat offers a beautiful respite in the Hubbub of the Old City and manages it with a grace I was not expecting. The staff have been kind and helpful, and the visitors have welcomed conversation (a blessing when you’re on your own). Moreover, this particular location offers a grand vista of Jerusalem that is hard to beat.
